The hydroxyl acrylic resin reacts with the hardener to form a dense polyurethane film. This crosslinked film improves surface hardness, gloss retention, weather resistance, and protection against daily washing, rain, UV exposure, and mild contamination.

Different climates require different drying speeds. Choosing the wrong hardener or thinner can cause slow drying, dry spray, poor leveling, solvent popping, or gloss loss.

Before applying clear coat, make sure the basecoat is properly flashed and dry according to the basecoat system. The surface should be clean, evenly matte, and free from dust, oil, water, wax, sanding residue, or silicone contamination.

Use a tack cloth to remove final dust before spraying.

For easier workshop measurement, this is generally understood as:

2 parts clear coat : 1 part hardener : 5–15% thinner

Stir thoroughly after adding hardener and thinner. Filter the mixed paint before filling the spray gun.

Pot life: Approximately 2 hours at 20°C. Do not store mixed material for the next day.

Recommended spray viscosity: 16–19 seconds with DIN4 cup at 20°C.

Apply 2–3 coats depending on required film build and job size.

• Flash-off between coats: 5–10 minutes
• Target dry film thickness: 40–60 μm
• Allow the film to rest for 8–12 minutes before baking
• Keep gun distance, overlap, and spraying speed consistent

For full vehicle repainting, avoid spraying too dry on large panels. Use the suitable slow system under warm or hot conditions to maintain wet edge and leveling.

P180-808 can be dried by normal air drying or 60°C low-temperature baking.

For higher workshop efficiency, baking helps shorten waiting time before polishing, assembly, or delivery. After curing and cooling, nib sanding and polishing can be carried out if needed.

Suggested finishing sequence:

1. Remove dust nibs with fine wet sanding
2. Polish with suitable cutting compound
3. Finish with mirror glaze or fine polish
4. Check gloss, clarity, and panel matching under natural light

P180-808 is an automotive refinishing clear coat. It should be applied over properly prepared automotive basecoat or coating systems, not directly over untreated substrates.
